RETE
Syncretic Te(ch)xtile

Rete is an initiative that aims to revolutionize fashion design by merging diverse elements of garment creation, including the physical, technological, and environmental aspects. The project showcases a generative design workflow that employs the latest advancements in procedural generation and algorithmic design to create distinctive and innovative fashion experiences.

Through the integration of extended reality garments and algorithmic art, the project seeks to establish a hybrid domain that offers multifaceted sensory encounters. This approach facilitates a more immersive fashion experience that dissolves the boundaries between physical and virtual spaces. Consequently, the project expands the perception of physical reality to cyberspace, introducing a novel form of fashion that reimagines and interrogates conventional concepts of physicality.

The project's emphasis on generative design and procedural formation represents a new direction in fashion design that is more dynamic and adaptable. The utilization of algorithmic design empowers the creation of garments that are not limited by traditional design conventions but rather are shaped through a process of iterative experimentation and exploration. This innovative approach presents new possibilities for experimentation and innovation in the fashion industry, fostering more dynamic and expansive creative expression.

Overall, the project is a conjunction between computational platforms and fashion design. Through the convergence of the bodily, technological, and environmental interfaces, the project creates a syncretic fashion form that delivers a distinct and immersive experience. By leveraging extended reality garments and algorithmic art, the project establishes a new realm that challenges conventional understandings of physicality and embodiment, paving the way for a new era of imaginative exploration and expression in fashion design.
